The LABC have released the following press release following our award win this week.
Little England Farm House was awarded the title of Best Individual New Home at the Grand Final of the LABC Building Excellence Awards – one of the most recognised events on the building industry’s calendar.
A panel of industry experts judged a list of the highest quality projects from around England and Wales to reward the best in technical innovation, sustainability and design. The architecture of this building responds to the landscape and views.
LABC Chief Executive Paul Everall said: “We are always delighted to reward those projects that focus on sustainability without compromising on specification or design. Congratulations to all involved with the Little England Farm House.”
“Our Building Excellence awards are an opportunity for the industry to celebrate good practice. Our winners demonstrate how positive working relationships with local council building control teams achieve high quality, sustainable buildings. They are unique because they recognise how this cooperation improves building standards and professionalism across the industry.”
Duncan Baker Brown, Director at BBM Sustainable Design said; “Through this project we have attempted to prove that a 21st century house, conceived as a sculptural object in a working rural landscape, can be developed in a very low carbon manner, while helping to regenerate a neglected 275-acre farm in a genuinely sustainable way.”
The Grand Final of the LABC Building Excellence Awards took place on Monday 28 November 2016 at the Westminster Park Plaza in London and was hosted by TV presenter Nick Knowles, best known for his work on DIY SOS. Over 700 building industry professionals including contractors, architects and engineers attended the celebration to find out which projects won across the 14 hotly contested categories.
